Fairfax City schools, AAP Center?

Anonymous
Is it a done deal that AAP eligible students from Fairfax City schools will go to Willow Springs? And will this also apply to kids from city schools that are already at Mosby Woods for AAP?

Huh? Boundary study is still on-going. Last "listening session" is tomorrow night at Woodson. Decision isn't supposed to be announced until May. Or do you know some behind the scence gossip you would care to share?

Thid doesn't have much to do about the boundary study. This is related to the AAP centers being pyramidcentric, which they currently are not.

It was my understanding that the boundary study to address overcrowding at Lanier and FHS was separate from the AAP Expansion Proposal. Was wondering if anyone knew if the AAP recommendations (which move Fairfax City AAP Center kids to Willow Springs) was expected to pass as is - is there any opposition to it, besides the outcry over creating new centers? And if it is expected to, does this also affect the Fairfax City students already attending Mosby Woods for AAP?

Hi. Have you emailed Linda Smyth (supervisor) or Patti Reed (school board). Both represent the Providence district and would probably know more than anyone on DCUM.
