I wondered if anyone had any good suggestions for nature and/or science-related camps and/or summer activities for an 8yo boy. I've had recommendations for: Smithsonian (a few, mixed reviews); the Zoo; Audubon Society; Living Classroom at Glen Echo; Mad Science. I've also heard a bit about TIC, which seems to be half computers and wouldn't appeal to my kid but perhaps others.
I saw some science-related programs listed in the Bethesda Y catalog - anyone have experience with those? Any other suggestions or recommendations? Thanks for any ideas - just hoping to keep my kid involved in issues that interest him (and since he comes from totally unscientific parents, we're extra thrilled to foster these interests!) Thanks! |
| Check out CampInvention.org. My 8 yr. old went last year at Ft. Hunt Elem. and had a great time. I've already signed him up again for this summer. This year our location is at Waynewood Elem., but they have camps all over the metro DC area. GL |
