Science related camps for 8yo boy?

Anonymous
I wondered if anyone had any good suggestions for nature and/or science-related camps and/or summer activities for an 8yo boy. I've had recommendations for: Smithsonian (a few, mixed reviews); the Zoo; Audubon Society; Living Classroom at Glen Echo; Mad Science. I've also heard a bit about TIC, which seems to be half computers and wouldn't appeal to my kid but perhaps others.

I saw some science-related programs listed in the Bethesda Y catalog - anyone have experience with those?

Any other suggestions or recommendations?

Thanks for any ideas - just hoping to keep my kid involved in issues that interest him (and since he comes from totally unscientific parents, we're extra thrilled to foster these interests!) Thanks!

Check out CampInvention.org. My 8 yr. old went last year at Ft. Hunt Elem. and had a great time. I've already signed him up again for this summer. This year our location is at Waynewood Elem., but they have camps all over the metro DC area. GL
