The Bachelor (Joey)

I am not a Maria fan. Anyone who has not brought a person home by age 29 to meet their family has some kind of problem. Either their family has a problem or they do, either way, it doesn’t bode well.

Maria would make for good tv as a Bachelorette. Messy and impulsive and fun = good tv.

Daisy fits the typical "Bachelorette" casting mould... but aren't we all bored with that by now? Pretty blonde, comes across as sweet/humble, who has a bit of a sad story.

Who didn't love the Hannah Brown season, right?

We've all seen "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" --- maybe we could use a little "My Big Fat Italian Engagement!"

I can't get past her teeth. Can't believe so many find her gorgeous.

I love her. I think her personality makes up for any of the small little physical things

Her rough, volatile, romantically insincere, I-am-the-center-of-the-universe personality?

She's immature, doesn't seem remotely ready for engagement or marriage. Isn't that the whole point of the Bachelorette?

This.

The "whole point" is to make good tv that gets viewers.

Maria is Greek, not Italian. And she is extremely immature, performative, narcissistic, and needs to be the center of attention. She won't be a good partner unless she goes to therapy.

Hannah Brown is annoying as hell.

Daisy is too much of the same they have always had, she seems like she cares more about an influencer career than finding a partner now.

I would be interested in seeing Rachel or Jenn.

Agree with all of this.

I never really liked her either until my DS and I watched her on Special Forces.

If you have a tween or teen kid, its actually kind of a fun show to watch together. And your opinion of her will improve.

She’s Greek and Italian … her dad even said it in the last episode.

Production crew is SO manipulative! Sending Leslie in to tell Kelsey that she should guard herself and not get too excited; be prepared to be hurt; etc. That was some "weird sh.." (to quote George W. Bush.

Clearly they like to screw around with Kelsey's head. Kind of mean.

And clearly intended to insert some drama into the show that is pretty ho-hum at this point.

I am team Kelsey and hope Leslie gets sent off to an island! What terrible advice to give a young person.

The more they showed Joey with Daisy, the less I see them together. It’s almost as if she’s disassociating when she’s with him. You can see some sort of emotion on her face, but she’s not able to use her words.

I was surprised to find out that Daisy is only 25! She seems older than Joey... definitely more accomplished and has her act together more. I see Joey with someone younger than he is (not Daisy). Joey seems like he's trying to figure out who he is going to be in life and what he wants to do with himself. That works better for someone who "looks up to him" in age... someone who is younger and also trying to figure things out. Daisy is too accomplished for Joey.

Why do you think Kelsey wrote the note that we have to talk?

probably because the producers told her to.

Kelsey meets with Leslie who just happens to tell her that she should be worried about getting dumped.

Kelsey starts to spiral and worry and the producers say "maybe you should talk to Joey about how you are feeling -- just say 'we need to talk'" ('cause who ever heard that from their girlfriend and thought it was nothing???!

Joey sees the card and then producers start asking him questions like "what do you think she means?" "do you think she's getting cold feet?" "she might be having doubts" -- all for the effect of getting Joey to say things in his interviews like "I'm really worried" "this is the worst thing that could happen" etc etc.

It's ALL for the production value of creating drama that can then get resolved.
