Walkable neighborhoods with good schools near Courthouse in Arlington

Anonymous
I know NOTHING about Arlington and am thinking of relocating there. Can you tell me whether this is possible:

1.) 3-4 bedroom housing (doesn't have to be SFH) within walking distance of Courthouse with
2.) decent schools??

That also has an urban feel?

TIA!

Sure. Lyon Village (north of Wilson) or The Vista on Courhouse would fit your description. The bigger question is what your budget is? These places tend to start around $850K.

Yes, what's your budget? (PP is right.) The schools around Courthouse are good. Depending on where you buy, you'll probably either be zoned for Science Focus/Key or Longbranch. There are some very nice townhouses right near the metro (South of Wilson/Clarendon between about Veitch and Barton), not sure of their subdivision name. I also really like the neighborhood between Wilson Blvd and Lee Highway around Veitch - it may be the Eastern portion of Lyon Village or something else. If you go farther out toward Ballston, you can find townhouses starting closer to $550/600K and SFH starting at around $650K.

Plenty of walkable areas close to 'urban' amenities along the Courthouse to Ballston corridor. This is some of the most expensive real estate outside NW of course so a lot depends on your budget and how big and how nice your expectations are....we bought a walkable 4 BR TH in Ballston for high 800s which is newer construction and the size of a decent size SFH...same size SFH in our area with similar finishings would have gone for at least $1.2 or so...

Agree with PPs--if your budget allows, you are looking at some of the most desirable neighborhoods in the entire DC area. If you come back to this thread and give us an idea of what you can spend, people will give you a much better idea of what's realistic for you.

Agree with this. Also the townhouses on colonal terrace in rosslyn (highgate) are close by and also have 3-4 bedrooms. I think they start in the 900s. Other THs in the courthouse and clarenon area tend to be maller (2 bedroom plus den) but the end units may be bugger so check out Courthouse hill nd the ones behind the barnes and noble in clarenon too.
