Fairfax County has SACC, does Loudoun county have a similar program?

Hi,

We're considering moving to Loudoun county and I'm trying to get some info on the Loudoun county school programs. I know Fairfax has SACC, but cannot find anything on the Loudoun county public school site which is similar.

Can someone help me?

Thank You!!

It looks like "SACC" is before/after care, right?

Loudoun does NOT have this. (GRRR.) I know that kids can take the school bus or daycare bus to (and sometimes from) daycare centers in the area (at least in Ashburn). The daycare center in Ashburn where my toddler is picks up kids from nearby school(s) in the afternoon. Our center doesn't serve our elementary school, but there is a closer center that I know kids take the school bus to. Loudoun elementary schools start early (7:30?), but some centers have before care, too. There seem to be a lot of camp-like after-school programs around, too, that involve computers, martial arts, etc.

HTH.

Thank you -- this does help. This could factor in our decision about living in Loudoun county.

Yes, actually they do. It's called CASA.

Yes, the afterschool program is called CASA and it's in most schools in the county. They don't offer before care because school starts at 7:50 am. If you want to register you need to call the Parks & Rec dept in Leesburg at 703-777-0343 and they can tell you if your child's school has a site. Most of the programs run the time school lets out until 6:00 pm and I thinnk the monthly fee is $300. However, I'm not 100% sure because that was the fee last year. I hope this helps.

pp here. my bad. I thought I read somewhere that there was no after-school programs. I wasn't making a distinction with the kindergartners (we still have 1/2 day here). Good to know.

The information is online: http://inter4.loudoun.gov/Default.aspx?tabid=328&fmpath=/CASA%20Licensed%20School%20Age%20Program
