| Looking for home office furnture. The office is right in the front of the house so I want the furniture to be decent-looking, not too officey, but still usable with good storage. The ideal solution would be a built-in wall of cabinets with a desk, but that's not in the budget so I'm looking into some kind of modular solution, basically where I can "build" a wall of cabinets/shelves and get a matching desk. I've found some possibilities at Pottery Barn and Ballard Designs, but I'm not in love with either. Any suggestions for other places to look for this sort of thing? |

Agree. |
| The Aspen Home line (I think that's the name). They have it at Belfort. We bought a lovely desk for our den, but they also had more modular pieces. |

Check out Loft Living in Bethesda and Urban Loft also in Bethesda, I was able to find great office/den furniture at v reasobale prices. Urban Loft is very new but located on Cordell Ave , Bethesda. Very stylish upmarket.
Loft Living is more reasonable. |
+1. Check out their commercial grade office stuff. Pretty good looking and very nice quality. Not inexpensive but more affordable than R&B. |
| Ballard Designs, Home Decor (both catalogs)...might also try container store for their elfa systems if you lean toward more contemporary or industrial styles. I got stuff from West Elm back when they went by their former name...little pricier but very high quality. |

OP here. Thanks for the suggestions. I am looking for something a step up from normal Ikea, but I will check out the commercial grade stuff. My only concern is that I don't want it to look super-officey, as the office is actually pretty much the first thing you see when you walk in the door to my house, and it's a small room so I don't want to crowd it with dark furniture. Right now the PB Logan suite in antique white is the front runner (link below), but I'd love to find something with a wider variety of options to better maximize storage in an oddly-shaped room.

I haven't looked at Home Decorators but in the past I've found their quality to be fairly low--reasonable for what you pay, but in this case I'm willing to pay a bit more for the next step up in quality. I will check it out though, and Ikea as well. And if anyone has any other suggestions, let me know. Thanks! |
You're better off getting in some experts to do it rather than try yourself from past experience! Try someone like these: http://www.hiltongardenstudios.com/products/hilton-garden-offices |
