How bad is it - drive Friday afternoon from DC to Va Beach?

I plan on leaving at 5, and will be HOV uti lit ends at Dumfries. How bad will the rest of the drive be?

Bad. Leave before noon or after 7:30 -8 pm. You will sit on 95s and on 64. HOV doesn't help.

I can't leave much earlier, and have been debating about leaving later. There's also a train, but I'm not sure how reliable it is.

Took us 7 hours from Silver Spring last year, we left around 2pm. NOT FUN

Don't Do It! If you are leaving at 5 pm, go to dinner somewhere, maybe catch a movie, and THEN drive south.
