3.5 year old used to get up at 8:00 am, now suddenly does it at 6:30 am

I would like to get some advise in how to handle a situation that has been surprising for us. Our 3.5 year old son used to get up at around 8:00 AM, and since a week ago he wakes up at 6:30 in the morning. We have not changed his bedtime routine. We usually put him in bed between 7:30 - 8:00 pm. He stopped taking naps entirely about 2 months ago. Somebody knows if maybe this is temporary or what can we do. Now that he is waking up at 6:30 AM, we try to put him in bed a bit earlier sometime between 7:00 - 7:30 assuming that this way he will recover some spleep. We do not udnerstand why all of the sudden he is waking up hour and a half earlier. Always has been good night sleeper. He is still in crib, even though lately also gets out by his own when he wakes up in the morning.

You should post this in general parenting.

The sun is up earlier? Wakes me up.

This is exactly it. Tell him to go back to bed, and stay there, until 7:30.

How dark is his room?

Is something happening outside the house at 6:30, like a neighbor leaving for work on a motorcycle or a loud car? If he's in a light stage of sleep at that point, the noise might be waking him up. Or is an alarm going off in another room (yours?) and he's more sensitive to it now? Those would be my first guesses. (also - is he newly potty-trained and he has to pee at 6:30?)
