Hollows/bags under eyes...all within the past year??

I'm 40, and when I look at photos from just a year ago, I don't see the hollows and bags/circles. Feels like it happened overnight!! Could my chronic sinus issues be exacerbating this?
Any safe way to treat this short of surgery? My self-esteem has really taken a blow because I've always had a youthful appearance and a pretty face, despite ups and downs in weight.

The same thing happened to me when I turned 40. It's age - your skin thins out and the fat moves away from that area. The only thing to do besides surgery is fillers, which I haven't tried yet (but I wear glasses, so I hide it behind my glasses).

.... and fillers look freakish in their own way. I can always spot the 50-something real estate agents in Bethesda who have fillers.

I have always had bad allergy shiners...and as I have gotten older, I feel as if they have become more noticeable.
