It's all relative. The area east of downtown Ellicott City was only Biden +18 or +23. Rest of Ellicott City went for Biden by 30-40 points.
Columbia, on the other hand, ranges from Maple Lawn (Biden + 35-40) to Oakland Mills which went for Biden by 60-70 points. Moco ranges from Damascus which actually went for Trump to Silver Spring which was Biden +85. |

| Ellicott City is not far from SS. I would stay in SS if I have concerns to my safety and my family’s safety. If you move for school, you may want to let us know what is wrong with schools in SS |
I agree with you PP. I’m a middle eastern immigrant and those types on people make me slightly fearful for my safety. I wish I could just say I value diversity so much that I would be fine having them as my neighbors but the level of hate that I’ve seen in them towards immigrants, black people and others is truly frightening. |
Let me guess, you’re white right? Because if you were a POC then you would know how afraid some of us are of the ‘Trumpy’ people. Fearful of how Trump has emboldened them to commit hate crimes towards us at unprecedented rates in modern US history. |

Answer:
Ellicott City is liberal. Marginally more Democratic leaning than the state of Maryland as a whole, which if you haven’t noticed, is a solid blue state. Howard County is considered a bellwether for statewide partisan lean. No, HoCo/EC are not as far left as Silver Spring. You won’t get as far left as TP/SS until you join the Youth Communist League or attend a Chapo Trap House live tour. |
Sorry to trigger you, but you're showing your privilege. It's not just about different views. In a poll last week, 40% of Republicans said that political violence was acceptable. Gay parents also don't want their children growing up around people who think their parents are an abomination. |
I grew up in EC. I'm black. It is liberal, but also an outer suburb so not as liberal as SS. Very diverse. Black, white, Indian, Latino, Asian, etc. |

I know of plenty lesibian couples in western Howard County.
I think you'll love it there. |
