My rental car is a cheap base model, cloth interior — how do people drive cars like this?

Lol! I thought you were driving around a Chevy cavalier or baseodel Hyundai or something!

This is the tier of rental car I have. It's tragic. Have you driven a more upscale car recently? It's just night and day. I know there's something to be said about being frugal but at what cost? This car this week has hurt my mood.

If you care so much, why don't you upgrade? problem solved.

It’s easy to become spoiled by luxuries, but many people never have the option of being spoiled. You can be spoiled and still realize this; I’m not sure what you’re trying to prove with your Marie Antoinette shtick.

OP, seriously? Don't you have something better to do?

Seriously, if you're such a big baller and you're so offended by your car, I'm sure you have no problem paying for an upgrade. Geez.

We conclude that you're a nincompoop who can't abide a little real world, OP.

I have a Toyota Corolla. The acceleration is not good. The seats are too wide to be comfy.

However, the rest is perfectly fine compared with the more luxurious cars I've enjoyed driving.

And best of all, this car is helping me economize my way toward more wealth than I already have! That car is DIRT CHEAP.

Imagine OPs horror if she had to drive around pps 12 yo van! All rental cars have new car features at least.

I would never be caught dead in cheap base model rental car especially if it had cloth interior. Yuck! I don't know why people like OP rent those things rather than spend a few more bucks for a top of the line rental like a Chrysler New Yorker with rich Corinthian leather.

I don’t think it’s that serious but I drove in a base model hyundai and it was AWFUL! Seriously a piece of junk.

OP: google “hedonic adaptation.” It explains why you have all this nice sh*t but are still so unhappy.

This reminds me of the time a rental company hooked me up with a Crown Victoria. It was a hoot. Everyone on the highway slowed down when they saw me approaching, assuming I was a cop.

Cloth bench seats and an undercover cop vibe- it was a memorable break from my luxuriously luxurious lifestyle.

Live a little, OP.

Some people are poor or middle class OP and that is all they can afford. Don't mock it...but for the Grace of God....

Corinthian Leather.

Once you get used to the base model with the cloth seats, because that is all you were able to afford early on, it's easy to keep on driving one to get from point A to point B. Not a problem.
