Private high schools: Chicago

Private high schools in Chicago are only for the kids who couldn't get into the selective enrollment public high schools.

I ran into an old acquaintance who I hadn't seen in about 10 years. The first question out of her mouth was "where is your daughter going to high school?" She immediately had to tell me that her daughter was going to private girls school X and how they were lucky their family had the means to send her there. I just smiled and said how great that was, but it was so obvious how insecure she was that her daughter couldn't get into a good school.
