I do it the lazy way, except I put 1/2 inch of chicken broth in the bottom of a saucepan, bring it to a boil, dump in fresh or frozen veggies, turn down the heat a bit, and steam for no more than 5 minutes then test to see if they are done. The chicken broth adds flavor, so I don't add butter, although sometimes I need a little salt.
I also saute fresh or frozen veggies with chicken broth and olive oil, and that works well too. My kids hate all veggies, but they usually eat them when I cook them this way. |
