I hope you get the help you need. |
OMG. Lay off the sauce. It's not doing you any good. Sorry about your hemorrhoids though. Tough break. |
Oh my goodness. Does someone know of an AA meeting in the boondocks of Virginia? |
You must be so proud. Thanks for letting us all know how it is. Good luck to your kids too. Good insurance will cover their therapy so don't worry too much about the damage you are doing to them. They can get help later. |
| I am laughing my ass off. Especially because Jeff makes spelling and grammatical errors all the time. Smart people don't sweat the small stuff. We don't proofread and edit what we post on an internet message board. |
| He has to make spelling errors, his own last name is misspelled for goodness' sake! |
|
This thread is a trip. I am rolling on the floor. I would just like to ad that I work with many writers and English majors. You would be shocked at their spelling skills. Many do not know the difference between lose and loose, there and their, right and write, or weather and whether... and these people write for a living! Yet, they are very smart people, even if they cannot spell every word. No one ever gets into arguments over spelling... otherwise our copy editors would not have a job.
Wwhen our American editors teamed up with our British editors, we had to sift through our vocab and decide which way to spell certain words, since we have both American and European readers. We use a combination of both, as they are all globally acceptable. So, even if you are a great speller...are you great at math? art? history? phys ed? Everyone has their weaknesses and strengths. I'm a pretty good speller, but on a message board, I'm really not concerned if my finger slips and hits the wrong key once in awhile. |
| oops typo. don't flame me. |
| What's the backstory on this thread? How did it go from spelling judg(e)ment to Jeff's kids are sleep-deprived by their late-night socialist propoganda memorization exercise? What did I miss in between? |
Apparently, four glasses of wine. |
|
I know we all have some extra around, so will someone send 2:34 some meds or another box of wine? Thanks. DO NOT DRINK AND TYPE!!!!!
And wait, let's have a raging debate about the Oxford Comma! Pro? Anti? It is SO relevant... |
Easy... don't know what in the world made you think the nut job was from Virginia. There are lots of normal people in Virginia, Maryland and DC, and probably an equal distribution of crazies. I hate these rude posts about the suburbs or certain states. It comes across as elitist, which I am sure you did not intend. This is coming from a pretty left-wing, but sensitive Virginian. And... I did not agree at all with the crazy poster, just didn't like some of the obnoxious suburbs/Virginia responses. |
wow. you seriously need help. |
| Well, I couldn't get through that whole posting but I do agree with the first part (before I phased out)- Jeff's way too liberal - to the point of fanatic.. whatever- to each their own.. i just personally avoid those threads.. no matter what i write will never change a radical's mind.. |
You can never be "too" liberal. You probably can't change my mind, but we can probably find lots of areas of agreement. I only care strongly about a few things. For the rest, I try to keep an open mind. |
