How long to teach a six year old to ride a bike without training wheels

This is what we did. DS just learned last month and it took him about 20 minutes too. He's 4.5.

took me about 30 minutes. I held the bike with some thing my friend lent me that attaches to back of bike. He rode. I let go and he had it. Really easy. Most importantly make sure he is on the right size bike.
