For CS: Cornell v. UPenn V. Columbia

Anonymous
Cornell is opening a new building as well. The decision is in large part city versus country. My daughter is at Cornell for CS. I much prefer her in Ithaca versus 116th street in New York (yuck) or West Philly, but I’m not a city person. The CS program at Cornell is a lot of work but I imagine that is true for Penn or Columbia as well.

In terms of interdisciplinary, Cornell cs major requires 3 courses in another area - any subject the student chooses. My daughter took 3 courses in psychology.

I am pretty sure choosing Columbia won't ruin student's life.

Your electives also are based on if you are in the engineering school or cals.

Columbia has the core curriculum, if that matters.

Plot twist. The Cornell CS kid washes out and is transferred to the Hotel/Motel 6 program. Goes to work for Motel 6 in NYC or West Philly and regrets what could have been had s/he chosen Columbia or UPenn.

Why would they wash out of Cornell but not Penn or Columbia?

No one in CS cares. The one your child wants to go to.
