Did you read the link you posted? She’s not Serbian, she’s Albanian-Kosovar. |
How so? It can't be dumber than yours? |
|
TIL that her name is really Dua Lipa.
This entire time I thought it was a play on two lips. |
|
|
I love her music and am inspired by her!
However, I do think her appeal is limited due to not being from certain demographics that have more worldwide crossover and buying power (think Taylor Swift or Beyonce). |
| She can't dance... |
Well that’s just YOUR opinion. |
PP stated facts. It isn't relevant that she may "feel" Latino to you or that you somehow believe Albania and Kosovo are not in Europe. There's really no universe in which "Latino" applies. Supposedly Napoleon tried to argue that French colonies were part of Latin America because French is a Romance language like Spanish, but even this shaky claim doesn't apply to Albanian. I have no use for Dua Lipa but come on! |
| My kids saw her in Antwerp 2 years ago. We love her in this house. |
Just who in the hell are you to tell Dua Lipa who she’s allowed to be? |
Does she have any connection to Serbia or the Serbian language? (I don't know the answer and I don't care to google because I really don't like Dua Lipa, but I find this truther/birther stuff about her very, very weird and frankly creepy.) I thought I had read that she comes from an ethnically Albanian family that moved to the UK. |

Saw her years ago for like $12 at the Rock & Roll Hotel on H.

I have never heard anyone refer to her as Latino outside this thread. Huh.
Albanian citizenship is quite recent. https://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-63779910 |

URL literally: dua-lipa-opens-up-on-move-from-serbia-to-london-ive-been-a-new-girl-all-my-life/ Nothing Latin about her whatsoever. |
