Is Samantha too dated?

Classic not dated.

Beautiful name! Not dated. Just don't name a future sister Miranda or Charlotte.

A tiny bit dated to my ear, but 80s names are back. In DD's pre-k class this year there's an Ashley, Jennifer Heather, and Justin. Samantha would fit right in. Plus enough time has passed that everyone won't jump straight to Sex & the City.

I would be delighted to meet a baby Samantha!

I know a few approx 20 year olds with this name.

I wouldn't use it myself because I feel like it's too dated, and not classic. (And I was looking for a name with S, so this did come up).

But I wouldn't think twice or judge if someone announced it as their kid's name. It's not a bad name overall.

No, it is a classic name.

I think Samantha and even Sam (Like Jennifer and Jen) are dated but who cares if you like it.

I know someone who did this and tried for two years to get folks to call her “Mantha”

Kid now goes by Sammi. I like Samantha but not the nicknames.

Classic. I know several Samantha’s ranging from 40 to 7!

I have a 2 year old Samantha 🙂 it was a compromise name between DH and me, but as it turns out, Sammy suits her personality perfectly.

Yes, but you started a sentence with me, so you probably aren’t too educated.
