I loved LHOTP and thought Melissa Gilbert’s autobiography was really interesting.

No. Sara is the biological child of Melissa’s/Jonathan’s adoptive mother.

Personally I thought Willie did a great job. He is still a little brat when Laura starts teaching. I don't know why he's hiding from us. Little House is great when it's funny; hate the serious ones like Mary's baby dies, Sylvia is raped, Albert's on drugs, Albert's dying. Michael Landon is a stone cold silver fox. OOOYEAH.

My mind is blown; I didn't know any of this!

What about Matthew Laborteaux? How's he doing these days? And Patrick?

Matt Labyorteaux was more successful and still works. He was the real deal.

I always thought it was odd that Laura & Willie were siblings in really life AND Albert & Andy Garvey were. I wonder if with child actors/actresses it was easier to deal w/ sibling/fewer sets of parents?

Michael Landon was earnestness in human form. Between “LHOP” and “Highway to Heaven” he was like my moral polestar as a kid.

I’m glad social media wasn’t around when the show aired, because you know the actors for Willie and Nellie would have been bullied online mercilessly by people who couldn’t separate the actors from the roles.

But he wasn't so good in real life.

I'll say it again - I love that we are having a conversation about LHOP in such detail. Whenever I want pure, wholesome goodness, I'll watch this show.

I love LHOP too. I was so disappointed when I found out he was not a good father or husband in real life. His ex explained to their son and daughter that he had a bad childhood and didn't know better. I saw interviews of the family. His son, Michael Jr. made a tv movie about him,

I always wondered about Melissa Sue Anderson - she checked all the boxes at the time - blond haired, blue eyed, actress. I thought she could have hit it big.

Back then I wanted to be her.

Melissa Gilbert disliked her. She sounds like she was very aware of her beauty and was also reserved, which came across as snobbish.
As an actress she was ok, but uncharismatic. This is going to sound weird, but her eyes were a little TOO blue--they photographed as cold and emotionless.

All from different biological parents, for sure though.

I loved Willie. His acting skills got the job done and he was cute and charismatic. He and Nellie had good chemistry.

Michael Landon has always been the bigger mystery to me. What was he really like to work with or live with?
