For All Mankind - so good

I admit it's a bit of a slow burn with a total yawn premise b/c it's been done and done and done - the American space program.

But it's really a fascinating alt-history.

And there is my man Joel Kinnaman, who is super hot.

Because we all are different and it is expensive to have so many channels. I can't keep up.

You get a free year of Apple+ TV with a purchase of an Apple device. Our family seems to have taken turns losing/breaking/outgrowing devices with admirable timing, so we've yet to actually pay to stream it!

I also love it and Season 1 is perfect, Season 2 is almost perfect with one annoying but overcomeable flaw, and Season 3 is... well I still love it but it has problems.

I still recommend this show to everyone though. It's worth paying for a month or two of Apple+ to binge watch it and a few other things, in my opinion. To the PP who said there are too many streamers, that's what we do -- we rotate through all the major streaming platforms so we only pay for one at a time, and watch everything we want, and then move onto the next. Except for Disney+/Hulu which we always have because of kids. But Netflix/Apple+/HBOMax/Peacock/etc? We only pay for one at a time and it's great. You can time it to coincide with good shows, too. We will often watch HBOMax for longer because they have mores stuff to watch than Netflix or Peacock. But Apple+ has a number of great shows and is totally worth dipping into.

Wish it was more about space and less relationship drama

I actually would have preferred that they slow this one down a bit and spend more time on the journey and the ins and outs of day to day life on Mars. As is, it feels a bit rushed. But overall, still love the show.

Yeah, Im also not living the house of cards melodrama but otherwise love the show. I hope the next ep is more space-centric but I kind of doubt it will be.

**Spoiler Alert for episode 7**

Does anyone think they’re about to kill off Ed? It seems pretty obvious that not everyone is going to survive the landslide.

I’m thinking he may hang on for a bit but ultimately doesn’t survive this season.

Thanks for the tip. We don't buy Apple products though.

I know this is an old thread but we are latecomers to For All Mankind and I have so much to say about it! We're about to start season 3. I'm so sad/mad about Gordo and Tracy. Also, why don't the characters ever age? Everyone has looked exactly the same since since season on, which took place in the late 60s. It's kind of hilarious--it's like the creators just threw their hands up and thought having the styles of their hair and clothes change would be sufficient.

I really enjoyed this series, as well. The last season wasn't great but it was good enough. And the soundtrack is amazing.

I LOVED the first few seasons of this show. I recommended it to everyone I know.

I have to say though that the last season was...bad. Truly not good. I think the only reason I kept watching was because I felt committed.

I can’t get into the show, but maybe I’ll get another try. I am obsessed with Joel Kinneman and I watch almost anything he’s in.

It doesn’t get any hotter than him.

Totally agree. I felt like giving up but wanted to see it through. Why did they age Ed in such a creepy way? I couldn't even look at him.

I'm watching Season 4. Some hits, some misses. *Spoilers ahead*

I can't decide how I feel about the "workers on Mars" storyline. I guess it shows how Mars and space have inevitably developed into commercial interests. I did like the sequence where Danielle's day was contrasted with the worker's day. The smuggling angle is entertaining but completely unbelievable. There's no way payloads would not be weighed to the gram. I also don't like the actor playing the main worker guy - Milos. But I like the Russian smuggler.

Danielle and Ed: so much to unpack there. I think S3 being not great and the time between its release and now made me forget that we didn't really know what ultimately happened to Danny. Danny sucked though, so I wasn't all broken up about it. That Danielle and Ed showdown was decades in the making and it was fairly satisfying.

Kelly and Aleida. Whatever. I like both of those actresses and Aleida's story (until now) has been really good. I want a satisfying resolution for Aleida. I feel like Kelly's story could have concluded upon her return to earth.

Margo. I really wanted to know what happened to Margo and I would like some flashback to how she ended up in Russia. I thought the part where Margo was taken to jail during the coup was really well done. My one quibble is that Margo would not rush forward to save a random guy from being beaten by police. She's much, much smarter than that. Obviously a showdown with Aleida is coming. I think Aleida is angry with Margo but nonetheless wants to save her. And I think Margo is realizing that she very much needs saving.

Well, I’m even later to this show as I just now finished the last episode. Loved the show as a whole but was kind of disappointed with the ending. We never find out what happens to Ed (and the other rebels) on Mars. Were they prosecuted? I assume so.

I thought for sure Margo would have taken Sergei’s advice and somehow defected to Brazil. I thought maybe she’d ask to consult with someone from the Brazilian embassy for some “reason” and then announce her defection. But no… I guess she went to jail.

And so weird that Sergei just leaves his wife like that - no explanation whatsoever. I liked him.

As for Ed, I guess I’m in the minority but I find him so repulsive! Joel Kinnaman has never been attractive to me, especially when they aged him to look like a Planet of the Apes character. But even as a younger man, he has such an arrogant way about him. Not my type at all.

So glad that Dani lived and got to see her granddaughter. She was my favorite character by far.
