What to wear on a cruise? And anyone know any stores that have bathing suits in stock?

Anonymous
Can anyone suggest a packing list for a cruise? Will I be running around all day in a bathing suit and cover-up? Jeans? Or will it be too hot? What about when we get off and go to the ports? Bathing suits and cover-ups again?

Cruise is next week and in the Caribbean.

Thanks!

Target has a ton of swimsuits and cover ups right now. Where are you leaving from and what are the ports? I would think you'll only be wearing a suit all day if your plan is to sit at the pool the entire day. I mostly wore capris and tshirts.

Montgomery Mall and Tysons Corner have Everything But Water swimsuit stores.

Depending on the cruise, many of the ports are just shopping/sightseeing, so you would just want regular comfortable clothes. Usually the cruise will tell you ahead of time if there is a beach on land you can use.

We're leaving out of Miami and going to Nassau, Grand Bahama and the cruiseline's private island.

We just returned from a cruise to Nassau. Capris/skirts with short sleeved shirts and long sleeved layers will not let you down. I would plan more for the weather than anything. It was at best warm during the day(70s). Kids needed bathing suits for the beach (private island), and I wore a bathing suit with a long sleeved cover up during the day. It was windy on the water and downright cold at night. Take a jacket and jeans/long pants for nighttime and a nice outfit if you care to go to the dressier dinner. If you choose to enter Nassau, wear shorts and a short sleeved shirt. The wind isn't as bad when you're not on the boat.

Check boat dress code as often they have requirements for dinner in some restaurants

South Moon Under had some really cute suits in stock when I was there last week. Saw one I really liked, but it was $168 and I was NOT up for bathing suit shopping just yet.

I wouldn't bring jeans. Pack lots of casual knit summer dresses and a light cardigan for the air conditioning indoors.

Lands' End has their suits online.

I'm going to Jaimaica this month and just returned $400 worth of suits to Everything But Water because I stepped in Target and bought 3 just as nice suits for 1/3 the price.

The selection at Target is GREAT right now, since no one is really buying suits at this time. I was thrilled to save almost $300!!
