We are planning a Euro vacation but would prefer a nonstop flight. Is there a list? I know we can search each city but is there an easier way? Specifically, we were looking at cities OTHER than Rome in Italy, Portugal, south of France. Thanks for the info.
Most airlines will stop SOME where unless you are going major city to major city. IAD is the most used International airport in DC area you can fly directly to London, Paris, Rome, Amsterdam, Munich or Frankfurt. Other smaller cities you will have to change. For Portugal you typically fly out of IAD to Madrid - switch planes and then on to Lisbon. Review Kayak.com - you have ways to search by dates, locations etc to get a feel for cost and routes.
We fly directly to Copenhagen from Dulles with SAS.
When you say DC/BWI, does that mean you are not interested in Dulles? DCA is not an international airport, so you would always have to get a connecting flight to get to Europe, so that would leave you with just BWI. IAD almost always has nonstop flights to London and Paris.
I don't think you will be able to fly to many cities other than the major capitals in Europe. Maybe just Milan in Italy other than Rome.
Why dont you just try travelocity with the specific cities you are interested in and specify non stops only. Schedules change seasonally too so it may depend on what time of year you are going.

There is now flights to turkey on turkish airlines. I also flew to Madrid. You can check the flight guide at IAD:
http://www.metwashairports.com/file/MWAA_January_2011.pdf or the map: http://www.metwashairports.com/image/Air_Service_IAD_International.JPG OP, go to website of BWI - they have similar guides |
For the south of France, I would just fly Dulles/Paris and hop on a train right at CDG airport.
