thank you. |
I think Raku is the best, but you're bound to get lots of suggestions since there are many options... |
My husband and I like Sushiko -- but can't say I'm a gourmet with a lot of sushi experience! |
I like Spices. |
Sakana on P Street and Sushi Taro are very authentic and good. |
I second Sakana. Also, Kaz Sushi Bistro is very good. |
Kaz Sushi Bistro is my favorite. |
Kaz is my favorite (I find it better than Sushi Taro), but I have heard that Makoto on MacArthur Blvd. is the best in the city. |
I lived in Japan for 2 years and know authentic sushi and love it. My favorite places are: (in order)
Sushi Taro Makoto (there's also a more casual sushi place on MacArthur Blvd near here that's good) Sushi Ko Cafe Asia (both downtown and Rosslyn) they have lunch bento boxes, yum. Cafe Japone (with the bonus of karaoke some nights!) Uni sushi (these last 2 are in Dupont) Also try some other Japanese dishes, particularly at Sushi Taro, like: agedashi tofu yakisoba yakiniku, yakinegi, yakitori try some of the sushi with umeboshi or tsukemono udon nabe try some of the sushis with things on them that you don't know what they are. I'm not really a fan of Raku sushi, but I like their other meals. Avoid mall sushi, costco sushi, grocery store sushi, etc. |
Also like Sushiko. |
I have only been to the Cafe Asia downtown, but have been there several times and thought it was abominable. I would not recommend it to anyone -- the sushi or the other dishes. The atmosphere is worse than a cafeteria, the service is slow, and the food is subpar. |
loved Sake club on 2635 Connecticut ave Nw. Went there once by accident and had a number of hot/cold dishes at random that i had never had before. On the pricer side but I LOVED it. Service also was VERY slow and unattentive, but i have yet to have found a sushi experience that was sooo satisfying. |
I love Thai Chef on Connecticut Ave., north of Dupont Circle. they're more a pan-Asian place, but the sushi is yummy. |
