Nemacolin Accomodations

Anonymous
I'm planning a 3 day trip to Nemacolin and am wondering which lodgings would be best suited for a family of 4 with kids age 6 and 9? The prices for the lodge rooms, cheateu rooms and townhouse are almost the same. The townhouse looks nice but I'd like to know if it that would be far from the activities. Thanks!

Townhouse is not far from anything-you can have a shuttle pick you up and anyway it's walking distance. I think they are decorated fine and it will give you some privacy with the kids upstairs but the Chateau has a really luxurious feel. Falling Rock is the best, in terms of luxury, but probably not a good option with so many kids..I would be worried about noise. I don't like the Lodge--it's the older property and not as nice.

I just realized you had two and not four kids.Falling Rock would be fine as it is really really nice but..in terms of their activities..it's far. I would go for the Chateau because it's the same building as all the kids stuff unless you want to keep them "away" and then do the townhouse with is nice but again..not as nice as the Chateau. Forget the lodge..really not worth--I used to do business with this property so I know.

With kids, I would probably do the townhouses. They are a bit of a walk from the main building, but as another poster mentioned, the shuttle is free and pretty easy. The main benefit is that, for the same price, you get 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a separate living area on the main floor. Agree that the Lodge is so not worth the trouble--it's like a Days Inn. Yuck!

I agree with PP (and PP before that).
