Flying with a Kelty frame carrier

Has anyone flown with one? If so, what did you do with it-check it in, bring it on the plane (not sure if it would fit in the overhead compartment)? If you checked it, did you have a separate bag for it? Thanks!

We gate checked it just like our stroller. No problems.

We put it in a bag and were charged $50 for oversize bag that was checked baggage. Be aware.

We packed ours in a mid-size duffle bag with our clothes - didn't get charged for an oversize bag.

Ours was by itself in duffle bag, charged by Air Tran, stay away from Air Tran.

We gate-checked it instead of a stroller. no problem. no questions. We flew Spirit Airlines & Jet Blue for trips to Puerto Rico.

we checked one w/ our regular luggage...Southwest gave us one of those big clear plastic bags for it. We were not charged oversized fee, and it just counted towards one of our pieces of checked luggage. We just did not want to carry it through the airport.

checked it at gate and also - no problem. it's awesome for in the airport too, we've never travelled with a stroller and love having hands free!
