| Heading to Maui and Kauai this summer. Not sure if we should do an excursion on Maui but definitely want a boat tour of Napali Coast on Kauai. Any recommendations and when must I book? This is late July. Should we acclimate a few days before planning excursions? Staying in Kanapali and Poipu. |

This one was fun, except when my wife flipped her kayak.

I would book pretty far in advance. ALso if you really want to do a Nepali coast trip, maybe book early in your trip and again for the last day you could go and then cancel the second trip if you go on your first trip. Our Nepali coast trip was cancelled by the operator the day before we were supposed to go and it was impossible to reschedule because everyone else was booked.
I really liked Maui snorkeling with Trilogy. |
| The Flyin Hawaiian zipline in Maui was awesome when we went 6 years ago. |

I would book ASAP. Things fill up fast in the summer.
In Maui we loved the snorkeling tour we did of Molokini carter and "turtle town" with Calypso. Kids loved jumping off the boat upper deck platform and slide. If you plan on doing sunrise at Heleakala you need to make a reservation same with some stops on the road to Hana like the black sand beach. |
| I’ve been to both islands many times. Boat or helicopter tour of na pali coast is a must. We have done helicopter tour on Maui too, flying over the island is spectacular. Other things depend on your family—def snorkel at molokini/turtle town but great snorkeling at ka’anapali too right at hotel. Zip lining is fun, good morning activity. We liked the one in Kapalua. Surf lessons on Maui are fun too. Maui surfer girls is a good company. Enjoy! |

Wait a few days before snorkeling:

I was SO seasick on my boat ride around the Kauai coast. The waters were rough that day and it was not a fun time.
Snorkeling in Maui was such a highlight! Much calmer waters. |
