Psych specializing in ADHD in DC for college-aged son

Anonymous
Moving to the area (CCDC) next month. Have 17 y/o who is 18 in July and we're going to need to transfer his psychiatry services. He is on ADHD meds (Focalin) and SSRIs and has been for years. He'll be going to college in the fall so ideally a Telehealth option after the first few sessions would be ideal. Would also love a place that could do an educational eval to send to college for accommodations.

Last, what's been your experience with obtaining prescriptions (particularly the stimulants) when a kid is in college in a different state?

Would love any recommendations of providers and details of others' experiences.

Thanks in advance.

We have had a great experience w the Chesapeake Center. Can't speak to out of state rx issue.

We use a psychiatrist at Ross Center. It’s been a multi-year relationship which started in person. It is now entirely virtual - sometimes when at home in DMV, sometimes when away at school in another state.

FWIW, university health center can take out of state RX.
