| Are there any summer swim teams for swimmers in DC? |
| Yes, the MVP Dolphins. They practice at GW's Mount Vernon pool in the Palisades. Here's the website: https://www.mvpdolphins.com/ |

Where in DC? A lot of us on Capitol Hill venture into Virginia for our swim teams/summer pools. |
Yes there isn't much. Many find themselves venturing to pools in Virginia or Maryland. |
| If you are a GS employee or military you can join Fort Myer (military pool) and they also have a swim team. Really nice pool. |
My kids joined MVP Dolphins last year and really enjoyed it! They don’t do competitive swimming year round and found the meets and practice schedule to be fun and a good challenge. It definitely improved their swimming! |
| TPDC swims out of Takoma Aquatic in Ward 4. Their registration opened last week and they swim in PMSL. The team is a lot of fun. |
| +1 for TPDC! |
| DC folks are welcome on all MCPS public pool teams. |
| how good of a swimmer do the kids needs to be to be on these teams? like if they can swim a lap or two with decent form, is that good enough? kid isn't particularly interested in competing. i would like them to improve, but i'm worried that it would be a bit too much. |
Generally a lap or two with decent form is enough. Every team will be a little different though, so you should reach out to the team you'd be interested in to ask. |
| Can anyone currently doing MVP dolphins share how it’s going? Thinking about it for DCs next summer. We’re in DC and there are so few options! |
| Also on the MCSL / Montgomery county side Long Branch (near Takoma Park) is a county pool with a division K team that has no pool membership required. |
