And now I’m at the ER being prepped for surgery. It’s apparently lodged in deep and will need to be pulled out in an OR procedure.
|
| I'm so sorry. What kind of fish? |
| Yikes! Hope the surgery goes well and you are better soon! |
Halibut. I’m so scared! |
| That really sucks. Good that they’re removing it though. Hope it goes smoothly. |
| Everything will be fine, OP. The surgery will go smoothly and recovery will be quick. |
| If you’re Christian say a prayer to st Blaise. He is the patron saint of people choking on fish bones. I’m not kidding. |
| OP, sending you all my positive energy tonight. Here’s to a quick recovery. |
| Don’t feel bad. It happened to the Queen Mother one time. She ended up having to go to the hospital for surgery, but lived for another 20+ years after that. |
| Hi OP. Thinking of you. Update when you can. |
| Oh wow, sorry OP. I’m sure the operation will go smoothly. I’m curious how big the bone is? |
You made me curious, and I googled St. Blaise, who, sure enough, was said to have instantly cured a boy who was choking on a fish bone: <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Blaise> Very interesting! OP, best wishes, and I hope that your surgery is already over and you're back home soon. Although I have a feeling that you won't be eating fish again anytime soon... That must have been very scary. |
What about St Bonaventure - the patron saint of bowel movements? Hope our OP is doing well. |
| Sending healing thoughts! I hate fish bones!!! |
Amen. |
