I feel like every thread asking about a dress has someone suggesting a Tuckernuck dress. I always look, and, to me, they are god-awful ugly and unflattering. I almost feel like it's an emperor has no clothes situation. Am I the only one that is astounded that they are charging this for really badly tailored cotton stuff?
I mean....who would look good in this? It looks like something for a 13 year old in a weird cult where the girls all marry the cult leader and all the dresses are stitched by the older sister wives: https://tnuck.com/collections/ladies-dresses/products/green-and-white-ditsy-floral-matilda-mini-dress and this for her grandma: https://tnuck.com/collections/ladies-dresses/products/ocean-mix-maisie-dress I assume that there is a specific market for this look (which I think must be very young, thin and tall), but I'm astounded when it is posted in nearly every thread, as if this was a universally flattering brand. |
| Yowza those examples are awful. I would never wear that. Looks like something someone made in Middle school home ec. |
| I like tnuck, but I wouldn’t wear those. Most of the rolls I know who wear it are UMC white women. |
| I think there is probably one person who is always suggesting Tuckernuck. They probably buy everything from there, and don't know of anywhere else. |
| I'm sure there are multiple J Jill and Talbot's haters because that's what I recommend and people always crap all over my recos. |

Tuckernuck is a retailer - they might have a house brand, I’m not sure. But they certainly don’t make all or most of the dresses.
I’ve said before that it seems to be for petite, feminine southern women who hate waists. Which is not me, but who cares? There are 1,000,000 stores out there. This one has a niche. If it’s not for you, just don’t shop there. |

Those are hideous admittedly. I have lots from Tuckernuck but agree a lot of it is ugly. I have these…

| The house brand is terrible quality. I don’t get the obsession. I went to a party recently and it was like viewing the entire Tuckernuck catalog in person. If I’m going to wear a poly blend, I’m not spending $175 on it! |
| I do not like, wear or endorse Tuckernut. |

There are many items with ruffles and tiers and no waists, all of which are unsuitable for me. That said, I have two dresses from there that are not at all like that, one of which is all cotton (the other is a blend).
Like all sites, you have to dig for what will work for you. I have this dress in green and it is insanely flattering on me. Good for occasions for which I need to be a bit dressed up but not formal.

| I’m another person who post links to Tuckernuck. Well I don’t like the majority of their things, I have gotten some super cute items from there. It’s like any store it’s hit or miss. |
We were at a wealthy Florida beach town last summer and I saw a TON of women wearing those sorts of dresses. They weren't all young, tall, and thin - I would say largely middle aged and monied, and different body types. I actually like both those dresses you posted - I'd wear the top one. The bottom one would look like a nightgown on me and not in a sensuous "I picture her in bed" sort of way, but in an "I think she escaped the asylum" sort of way. I could see it working on someone else, though. |
love that! |
