Has anyone sent their kids to any of their one day classes? I would like to try if for my 11 year old but she seems totally against this. Curious if kids actually have fun and how much they learn. |
| Yes, my stepdaughter went to a class when she was 11 or 12. We had her take it to help with some social skills and table manners. I think she found it mildly amusing and met a few nice kids but that was that. She is on the spectrum and went mostly against her will so didn’t really GAF. But I bet a neurotypical kid who is slightly interested would have a better experience. |

Week 7 -2024 VA Boys Class 6 Rankings[u]
1. Robinson (11-0) Results: Def. Fairfax 19-3, Def. Woodson 23-9, Def. Stone Bridge 11-7 Analysis: Robinson started the week very strong with wins over Fairfax and Woodson. But on Saturday they had a very close game against a bad Stone Bridge team. Following Saturday we were close to giving Freedom South Riding the number 1 spot nod, however they are high school kids and are allowed to have a bad day. I expect them to learn from the game and easily win out the rest of the year. Coming up they do have a Lake Braddock team who two years ago ended their state championship dreams out of nowhere, although this Braddock team still has good players they are not the same and probably won't be able to keep it close. Quality Wins: Madison, Yorktown, McLean, Langley Decent Wins: West Potomac, South County Quality Losses: None This Week: 4/25 @ Lake Braddock, 4/27 vs. Cosby 2. Freedom South Riding (10-0) Results: Def. Unity Reed 20-2, Def. Patriot 10-8 Analysis: A blowout win against a bad Unity Reed team does not say much, however the close game does say a ton. We were surprised by the way the Eagles came out and played a very average Patriot team close. Because of this close game we thought about dropping them but their undefeated record and earlier win are very strong. Quality Wins: Riverside, Briar Woods Decent Wins: Patriot Quality Losses: None This Week: 4/15 vs. Gainesville, 4/18 vs. Oakton, 4/18 @ Battlefield 3. Langley (8-3) Results: Def. Marshall 21-1, Def. Wakefield 20-2, Def. Cosby 9-6 Analysis: Another solid week for the Saxons. Started the week in blowout fashion against two bad teams within their district, further solidifying their 1 seed in the Liberty District. On Saturday against a strong Region A foe the Saxons were able to defeat Cosby in solid fashion generally controlling the whole way through. Coming up the Saxons have two games back to back days against two decent teams look for them to win those pretty easily and likely not lose again this regular season. Quality Wins: Yorktown, McLean, Cosby Decent Wins: None Quality Losses: None This Week: 4/17 vs. Sidwell Friends, 4/27 vs. South Lakes (@ South County) 4. Battlefield (7-0) Results: Def. Gainesville 15-4, Def. Fauquier 17-4, Def. Osbourn Park 16-0, Def. McLean 11-8 Analysis: After a crazy week Battlefield comes out with 4 more wins including a great one against McLean on saturday. Battlefield started the week with 3 easy blowout wins before facing a solid McLean squad on Saturday, while the score may seem close the Highlanders slotted 3 right at the end of the game making look much closer than it was. This coming week look for Battlefield to cruise through Osbourn before a tough against Patriot who has been playing well and another decent one against Westfield. Quality Wins: Briar Woods, McLean Decent Wins: Independence Quality Losses: None This Week: 4/22 @ Osbourn, 4/25 @ Patriot, 4/27 @ Westfield 5. Yorktown (6-4) Results: Lost to Heights 10-11 (OT), Def. WakeField 17-4, Def. Broadneck 11-7 Analysis: Yorktown just finished a huge week, starting with another OT loss to a strong Heights team, they then crushed district foe Wakefield. Then on Saturday the Patriots shocked many in fairly handily defeating a Broadneck team who crushed both Langley and Madison. Yorktown with another big one against Mclean this week, with a likely win they will secure the number two seed and a home game in the Liberty district tournament. Quality Wins: Broadneck Decent Wins: Oakton, Patriot Quality Losses: Robinson, Madison, Langley, Heights This Week: 4/25 vs. McLean, 4/29 @ Washington-Liberty, 6. Madison (5-5) Results: Def. Woodson 16-3, Analysis: Madison was without many games this week. In the game they did played they had an impressive win over a decent Woodson team. Coming up Madison has an important game against Concorde distinct opponent Oakton, and later another solid team in Patriot. However we expect our projection from last week to continue and Madison to finish 9-5 and #1 seed in the Concorde District. Quality Wins: Yorktown Decent Wins: West Potomac, Chantilly Quality Losses: Riverside, Severna Park, Atlee This Week: 4/25 vs. Oakton, 4/27 vs. Patriot 7. Cosby (4-2) Results: Def. Clover Hill 17-2, Lost to Langley 9-6 Analysis: Cosby started off the week with an easy blowout win over a terrible Clover Hill team. They then traveled up to South County where they lost to a good Langley team 9-6, we decided to move them up over McLean because we think their loss to Langley isn’t as bad as Mclean loss to Battlefield and a close game against Herndon. Coming up Cosby has a chance to bounce back when they play Robinson this coming Saturday. Quality Wins: None Decent Wins: None Quality Losses: Atlee, Langley This Week: 4/22 vs. Glen Allen, 4/27 vs. Robinson (@ South County) 8. McLean (9-3) Results: Def. Herndon 9-6, Def. Marshall 14-0, Lost to Battlefield 11-8 Analysis: Mclean had a very disappointing week even with 2 wins. To start their week they played a pretty bad Herndon team extremely close, following that they had an easy win over Marshall before losing a game to Battlefield which was not as close as the score indicates. McLean has a huge one this week against Yorktown and a big chance for them to bounce back before playoff start. Quality Wins: Sidwell Friends Decent Wins: Chantilly, Woodson Quality Losses: Robinson, Langley, Battlefield This Week: 4/25 @ Yorktown, 4/27 vs Lake Braddock (@ Westfield) 9. Hayfield (9-0) Results: Def. Falls Church 20-3, Def. Edison 13-3 Analysis: Hayfield again picked up another two wins against poor opponents last week. Again we are not yet sold on them as a serious contender come May, but we don’t want to discredit them too much as they still are undefeated which is somewhat impressive given their schedule. Coming up and to finish their year they have two more terrible teams so we won't get to see Hayfield play a really solid contender for a while. Quality Wins: None Decent Wins: Chantilly Quality Losses: None This Week: 4/25 vs. Mount Vernon 10. West Potomac (7-4) Results: Def. Alexandria City 16-5, Def. Northern Calvert 12-11, Def. Lake Braddock 9-7 Analysis: After barely making the rankings last week, West Potomac has solidified their spot this week with two very big wins. We were on West Potomac last week about letting in too many goals and this week the defense stepped up big time. They started their week with an easy win over Alexandria City, then a big win over a solid Maryland team in Northern Calvert, and finished the week with a win over Lake Braddock. As of right now any team not currently in the top 10 will need to make some major moves and West Potomac some major losses for a change. Quality Wins: None Decent Wins: South County, Lake Braddock, Northern Calvert Quality Losses: Madison This Week: 4/25 vs. West Springfield Also Considered: Lake Braddock, Woodson, Oakton, Patriot, South County, Chantilly, Deep Run |
