Could they be too tart for a cherry pie? How else can I use them up? I hate to throw them out. |
Mix into homemade ice cream, or make them into a syrup and use on ice cream or pancakes.
I also think it’s fine to use them in a pie. I prefer a more tart pie! |

I'm assuming you've never made sour cherry pie? The tart cherries are supposed to be so tart to be inedible on their own but add plenty of sugar and you get a strongly tart-sweet pie. When done properly it is a fine thing to eat. |

I like frozen tart cherries with cottage cheese or plain yogurt. They are also good mixed into oatmeal. |
