Where do you shop? Summer work clothes (resonably priced) - casual office

I've been doing the sweater jackets (a la Eileen Fisher - but cheaper!) this winter and wanted to find some cute tops (sleeveless blouses kind of like J Crew/silk babydoll tanks, etc) and very lightweight cardigans to layer or linen type sweater jackets. I like Eileen Fisher, but it's waaay too expensive for me - and some of the items are too frumpy. I like J Crew's stuff - but that can get pricey as well.

Where does everyone shop for summer work clothes? I don't need to wear a suit or anything to work - just look polished. I plan on lots of linen trouser pants, but need something more affordable (about $50 for sweaters/$30 for blouses)

I've found a ton of great sale items at Ann Taylor - I find what I like in the store then order it online w/ the 20% off coupons I get from the mailing list. Same with Ann Taylor Loft only there I have found myself in a cycle. I only shop there when the save $25 off $50 coupons are being offered. Spend $50 get a $25 off coupon. I spend $200, get $100 in coupons for my next $200 purchase. It's a cycle but I nevver ever spend more than $100 on $200 worth of clothes. I love it.

I think the Loft is a good source. Also check out the outlets (Leesburg) for Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, Saks, etc. I think pants or a skirt and a nice tank/cardigan or soft jacket is a perfect summer outfit for work. Other options, a dress with a cardigan was my favorite when I was working. Get some nice low heels shoes in more summer colors and you are good to go! I also was a big fan of simple outfits with great jewlery.

I found some great blouses at Eddie Bauer. Might be a bit more than $30, but well worth it and they are machine washable. Otherwise, I tend to do Macy's.

There is a friends and family coupon for Ann Taylor and Ann Taylor Loft going around that is for this Thurs - Sun -- 25% off your entire purchase -- no minimum spend -- which is great because normally you have to spend $75 to get 15% off and $175 to get 20% off or something like that.

I agree with Eddie Bauer. I just got a bunch of stuff from there and it was all on sale.

I get most of my clothes from LLBean-casual, yet always in style. I've found great khakis at the Gap outlet in Old Town-also great store for children's clothing. LLBean has after season sales, true bargains. And Bean has fast shipments.

I love H&M. Very affordable and cute, trendy stuff.

Talbot's (petite). They're not as frumpy and stuffy as I used to think they were.

I buy almost all my work clothes at the Ann Taylor outlet store (I go to the one in Woodbridge and have gotten a lot of great deals there -- they have a huge sale section). Then I supplement with Banana Republic outlet, Gap outlet, H&M, and occasionally Old Navy. I'm way too cheap to go to department stores or pay full price for anything -- it's not in our budget.
