Where do you get your mulch? And what kind of mulch?

Other than making sure you get the red kind ( ) what kind of mulch do you use? Where do you usually get it? Is it worth it paying for a mulch from a garden center, as opposed to Lowe's or Home Depot?

I buy bagged hardwood mulch from a landscaping supply place, a whole pallet delivered. I’ve never seen the point in paying more for other varieties. I always put down a layer of Leafgro and then add mulch over it.

Home Depot. Cedar because it resists mold a bit.

Is it time for the mulch moutains to make its appearance again?

Doughnuts not mountains!
You can mulch with any organic matter. I mulch with straw "fortified" by my chickens' presence. You can mulch as much as you want.

Except we will see mountains. And islands made around every single tree as if trees in nature all have islands around them.

I order mine from the local high school sale each year. I get fine pine if they have it, basic hardwood mulch if not.

I order mine from the local boy scouts. They let you pick between three options. It's delivered right to my driveway.

When are you mulching? Is it too soon?

City delivery for mulch doesn't start until first week of April!

I like the mini pine bark nuggets. They last longer than the shredded mulch. I get it from Home Depot. When I've bought mulch I try to buy from the local high school sale or, if I miss that, then HD.

+1

But I don’t know what kind it is other than “brown”.
