Why are all the ads on Hulu for drugs to treat obscure(ish) ailments?

I've been watching The Bearing on Hulu (so good!) and my subscription has ads. Every single ad is for some obscure drug. I usually mute my phone so I don't have to listen but who is really benefiting from these ads? The target audience must be so tiny. Anyway. Random thought.

I also have Hulu with ads (Black Friday deal!) and agree. I assume it's because pharma companies have the money and/or something about the demographics of Hulu subscribers.

I’m just happy when the ads are in English. I get a lot of Spanish ads for some reason. I also get a lot of Chase ads.

I just canceled Hulu today and Disney plus. I’m tired of the ads, it cheaper to buy the Blu-ray and be done with these ad apps.
