Does anyone know of kids who has been accepted at the Ivies with GPA which seemed low?
My ds is good, goes to a magnet school, in the base school Track, thats about it. This is a curiosity - I have no expectations just wondering. |
| Just apply if they are interested in a school. You never know |
| Yes if URM or first generation. |
| Check Reddit |
| 3.6 and 1540 SAT |
Is the 3.6 unweighted? |
| Yes--URMS, recruited athletes, very wealthy legacies. |
Magnet kids that get into Ivies generally have close to 4.0 GPA with highest vigor classes. Sometimes exceptions happen for unusually strong extra-curriculars, but this does not appear to be the case. |
| A kid from our school got into Princeton with a 2.94 and 1450. I assume it was an athletic recruit. Another athletic recruit got in with a 3.58 and 1260. |
| A 3.4 and a famous parent will get you into Brown. |
| My daughter’s friend just got into Yale this fall with a 3.7UW and 1440. Some over the top ECs, though. |
| Not without a significant hook, OP. The accepted dots in the lower left quadrant of the scattergrams can be thrown right out. |
| OP the answers you're getting here are mostly made up nonsense. These people don't know the scores of every student in their kid's school. |
| 3.6 and 1450 into Princeton last yer from DC private. URM+Legacy. |
I do. It’s called Scoir. |
