Have to received your Scholarship Information from UMD?

Anonymous

DS has been accepted to UMD, and we're immensely proud of this achievement. However, we haven't received any updates regarding the scholarship. We're uncertain whether they'll be announced later or if he hasn't been awarded any. Has anyone else received scholarship information from UMD?

DD also accepted and have way above the average stat but didn't get any merit. We attended today's open house and there was Q&A session all notifications for merit is done. So looking into other options.

UMD is light on merit. Still more affordable than most private colleges who charge a ton and then give everyone discounts like at kohls

60K for OOS is not affordable compared to other state schools for e.g. OOS VT, Purdue, UMass, UMNTwin cities

Costs the same or less than UNC, WI, TAMU, Pitt, DE, Indiana, Wash, WM, CT, OR and CO

Yes DD was notified of her Presidents scholarship this week.

It is a bit confusing how they are awarding merit. DD got way above average SAT, GPA and EC as well as several APs. Admitted OOS CS but no merit while others OOS with lower stat got merit.

Merit is really dynamic pricing. They are looking for OOS dollars, so they use merit to draw them in.

I think it’s her major. They know that CS is in demand major and difficult admit everywhere. They figure she might attend without merit anyway so why offer.

The highest I’ve seen in state is 20k over 4 years. Much more for OOS.
