Do you have Hale Navy cabinets?

Anonymous
I'm trying to choose cabinet colors, and am looking for a deep, dark navy color for the island (perimeter cabinets will be BM Pure White). I have mostly settled on BM Hale Navy, but have yet to fully commit because the color seems to vary widely.

I want something like this:

https://www.houzz.com/photos/hale-navy-farmhouse-kitchen-sacramento-phvw-vp~124803436

But for every photo I find like that, I also find much brighter/bluer examples like this:

If you have Hale Navy cabinets, do they look dark, navy blue in your space? We have a north/west facing kitchen, so I do think HN will lean darker in our space, but it's hard to know/test since the windows/lighting are changing significantly.

No, shows dirt. ugly. nice in certain professional photos as you have posted. Not good in real life at all. they will look dull and black and claustrophic.

It’s going to be hard to tell because the photos are edited so much. The focus on the 4th link is on making the kitchen look light and air-y so it’s brightened up what seems like a lot.

You’re better off seeing if there’s a place to see others’ unedited photos.

I do not have hale navy cabinets, but I have hale navy in a bedroom. I think it's somewhere between the very first link you give (welshdesignstudio) and the very last link you give. Its definitely not as bright as the very last photo, but not as dark as the later two links in your "want something like this" category.

Agree, it's hard to tell online. That's why I'm asking if anyone has them in real life and can weigh in.

Interesting. Thanks so much for your feedback!

I have Hale Navy in my powder room and dining room and it looks just like the first photo you posted.

I have hale navy in my son’s bedroom. I love it and would use in a kitchen. I think it’s just like the first photo (welschdesignstudio).

Not cabinets, but had a large piece of furniture painted in Hale Navy.

Room faces east but it's opposite screened-in porch, so not in a lot of direct light. It looks grayish navy.

Most like the first pic, not at all like the last two.

My cabinets are BM Van Duesen Blue, which is a very similar color. We love them. Our kitchen is very open and bright with lots of windows and it works.

Thanks all! This is very helpful!

I have Hale Navy cabinets in a bathroom (one small window, mostly artificial light) and it's a very true navy.

Your light is going to determine how it looks in your space, so get some large samples and see how it looks! It's worth it to buy the samples.

I have large samples, and it appears to be a true navy in my space. I'm just hesitant because the lighting and the window placement is changing, so it's hard to know what it will look like post-renovation. But all of this feedback is giving me confidence!

I don’t have cabinets, but have a Hale Navy dining room that faces north- it looks like your first link, as others have said. Definitely nothing like the two you don’t like.

What color is your counter. I think it looks lovely with a white or very light gray counter but looks weird with darker counter tops.
