| How much to a redo a kitchen that keeps everything in the same place except moves the fridge to currently an unplumbed interior wall? Island sink and range not moving. Will put in electric oven/microwave in an area that already has GCFI outlet. New wood floor/cabinets/backsplash/quartz counters/fixtures. Layout remains the same apart from wall receiving fridge, which will also receive a pull-out pantry.. |
| Size is 13 x 12. |
| $100k |
|
Pp again.
I answered too fast. That’s my best guess with high end cabinets. You could do it for less. Maybe $80k? Including all new mid range appliances. Less than that and you’ll be using lower grade finishes or super cheap labor. |
| Anywhere from 50-80k depending on the cabinets you choose. |
| What level of cabinets do you want (custom? Ikea?)? Are you adding any lighting fixtures (pendants, sconces)? What kind of tile backsplash - cheap subway, zellige/ handmade tile, etc? What level of sink / faucet etc (Waterworks, fireclay apron sink, cheapest available at Home Depot?)? You can price out the fixed costs pretty easily given that you already have the layout and then work from there. |
| Depends are you looking to use a design build firm or contractors? We did this in 2019 for $100k (but a bit larger kitchen, 15x14) using contractors. We purchased all cabinets (Kraftmaid), counters (Dekton) through Home Depot and used a Home Depot virtual designer to refine the layout and cabinet specs. Hardwood Flooring was through a separate contractor, and cabinet installment through another firm. Purchased all other materials ourselves (appliances, hardware etc). 5 years later with inflation assume $140k and if using design build assume more like $200k+. |
| Moving around the refrigerator and oven will require additional plumbing and electrical. An electric oven needs a 220V outlet/circuit. A regular outlet will not work. You will definitely need to have some work inside the walls. |
Wait - are you putting in a new electric oven, or an electric microwave oven? Your post is confusing and they are different appliances. Anyway, your remodel is not going to be quick and easy. Expect it to be $50k+. |
| I think it could go from 30k-100k depending on what you select. Cabinets, applicances, counters, flooring varied greatly in price. One thing to note the pull out pantry cabinets (I have two) were extremely expensive. |
| I just did something similar and it cost me $30k. Shop around for prices if it’s a concern. We found some really good sub contractors by going to a new build development and asking if anyone was interested in additional work if you’re comfortable with that. We also bought all the supply’s directly so there was no markup. Yes we did get permits where necessary. |
Size of your kitchen and how much did the cabinets and flooring cost you? How much was the labor? That seems incredibly cheap. |

i was roughly quoted 90-100k for kitchen where everything would stay same layout. I was a bit shocked. Custom walnut cabinets, quartz countertops etc.. but no new floors either.
I needed to go back to get a full quote after choosing the specific cabinetry model and the appliances and i understand i could have looked at 80 to 110 depending on the specific choices. But i didnt go back. It looked stunning and quality work but i couldnt afford it. I am guessing ikea kitchen with semi-handmade doors would be closer to 50k. Will do that when current kitchen really falls apart

We are doing design-build right now in a ~13x13’ area and the all-in total is about $135k. Cabinets are $36k. Appliances $10k. Quartz countertops. Extras are new hardwood floors, new window size, and a skylight, and the sink is moving. Only minor structural (non-load bearing) wall work. |
Okay but how much are skylight and window work adding to this? |
