Bakery Needed for Baby Shower Cake

I'm hosting a baby shower for my friend and I need to find a place that does really cute novelty type cakes. I'm not a big fan of sheet cakes with a decoration on top. I want to surprise her with something a bit more unique like perhaps baby blocks.

Any top notch bakeries out there that you've used and can recommend?

I second Amphora. I was in their Herndon shop once and they had a cake that looked exactly like a Tiffany box, and one that looked like a LV purse too. (Also had baby-themed ones.) Very cute - all us mommies were oohing and ahhing over them.

My friend used Fluffy Thoughts Bakery for a baby shower -- AMAZING! She went with a baby blocks design -- three blocks, three different flavors.

I'm not sure about cakes, but for my baby shower someone got these little candy babies from Stella's Bakery in Rockville. Hard to describe, but they're these tiny little babies sleeping in booties - seriously the hit of the shower!
