UPPAbaby Vista v. Bugaboo Fox 5?

Anonymous
FTM currently pregnant and looking at stroller options. We've narrowed our top choices to the Vista and the Bugaboo Fox 5. Does anyone have any experience with one or both (especially if you're in DC proper and use it around the city). I'm really stuck between the two!

Also, I'm aware that only the Vista can used for two children and am not factoring this into our decision. Thanks!

I had a similar dilemma a few months ago. I decided to go with Bugaboo, 1- Uppa baby is very common, I love the terrain capacity of bugaboo and how well they are made.

I decided to buy Fox 3 as there isn't much difference between 3 and 5 functionality vise and Fox 3 was around $1300.

No experience with the Bugaboo Fox 5, but we loved the Uppababy Vista V2. Great stroller for walking around town with a large basket for hauling the diaper bag, groceries, etc. However, it’s big and heavy and clunky when folded, making it less convenient for putting it in the car. It would probably be a pain on public transit like Metro.

Chose the Bugaboo Fox 3 I think over the UB. I just liked it better.

I tested all the high end strollers including the Fox, One by Cybex I can’t remember the name of, and the Vista and Cruz. It was pretty shocking how much easier to push the Bugaboo was when you were testing them all side by side. Uppababy’s baskets are way better but the Fox was better in every other way so I went with it. Happy after several years of use. But I also got a Yo-yo because it’s so heavy and annoying to fold.

The vista will have better resale value, bugaboo isn't appreciated around here except maybe the Donkey's unique features. Bugaboo also has a lot of great accessories and beautiful canopies to change up the look if that is your thing. If you think you might add a wheeled board the Bugaboo one is nicer and has a seat.

The Vista's bassinet is approved for overnight sleep. The uppababy warranty and customer service is great. I've made two claims on my warranty with very low hassle, they overnight shipped the replacement parts. Huge basket with great weight capacity, used it for laundry, groceries, and more. If you don't need to stroll two kids have you considered the cruz v2? Those inches matter, especially the width imo.

- car free in DC, owned or have owned Vista, Cruz, and Minu but really want a Donkey

OP here! Thank you all for the extremely helpful advice!!

I think I'm leaning towards the Bugaboo Fox, but PP makes a great point about the Cruz, definitely something to consider!

I got the Fox 5. I tested both in person and it was nicer. I love the breezy canopy so much during summer. Both strollers are fine I'm sure.
