Good Counsel - college admits?

Anonymous
Has anyone seen anything about where Good Counsel students are being accepted? I haven’t seen anything on IG. Genuinely curious as considering enrolling my child assuming they’re accepted.

Interesting, I could not find anything outlining recent matriculations for Good Counsel, other than a comprehensive list of acceptances over a period of years (which is pretty useless). I would call the school and ask.

Probably no better than your local public.

You must really be a joy to be around.

Here is class of 2023. Seems just ok with about 5 top 20 enrollments out of a class of 156 students who posted. I believe the class is over 200 though. From what I could see only one of those was athletic, but not sure if this is accurate. It seems to be a student run account.

Not every kid feels the need to brag online.

The high school has zero impact on where your kid gets admitted. Many of the prep school admits are driven by legacy status of the parents or athletics. Regardless of where your kid goes, they'll need a 3.9+ unweighted GPA to be in the running for an Ivy.

Meh results. I’m actually surprised.

I think these are good, solid colleges. I like what I am seeing and would be happy with my kid going to the majority of these schools.

public school you pay money for

Why do people always forget what's posted is where the kids choose to go, not where they're accepted? After paying $30k+ for HS, the cost of college is a factor for many families.
What schools are you hoping to see on the list that aren't there?

OLGC is no more than a glorified public school so I would expect the same results as the MOCO public schools.

I'm struck by the selected majors -- lots of science and engineering... pretty impressive.

I understand thatyour feelings are hurt by your rejection. The sting will lesson with time.

Well plenty of MCPS students are headed to ivys and top 20 schools so your expectations for OLGC should be pretty high.
