| Please share any experience with Letters and Sciences program at UMD. DS applied for CS, but got admitted to Letters and Sciences in Spring. Is it worth to pursue or go with other good choices (Umass Amherst, OSU, VTech, UMBC) with CS. |

| If interested in CS, UMass Amherst is your top choice, especially with their direct admit into their CS program (part of their Computing school). VaTech and Ohio State ask you to apply competitively after a year, as they don’t offer direct admission to CS (which is in their Eng school). UMD makes it very very difficult to transfer into CS if not a direct admit. |
