cracked back glass?! Iphone 15 pro

I’ve had my iPhone 15 pro for less than a month and I went to switch the case and was shocked to find the entire back glass shattered. I cannot recall dropping this device even once. I had my iPhone 11 for years without so much as a ding.

Apple forums tell me this is not an uncommon problem and that AppleCare and other insurers (Asurion) will only replace front glass.

Has this happened to anyone else? Were you able to find a place that will replace back glass cheaper than Apple?

I’ve done it on an older phone and found that replacement was impossible. If that’s still the case, my solution was clear duct tape and a cover. You could barely tell and it help up fine. I tried a LOT of things and clear duct tape was definitely the best.

I'd send it back to apple and go through them.

Back glass is completely unfixable — it’s the structure the phone is assembled on. Replacing it means replacing all the guts of the phone so replacing the phone.

I would get a screen protector and apply it to the back to seal it and prevent shards from getting lose.

All water resistance is gone, so bare that in mind
