Restore thread on adult son's engaged ex girlfriend?

It is frustrating to put yourself out there, even anonymously, and take the time to publish a thread you know you'll take criticism for, try to read all of the comments (many incredibly nasty), thoughtfully respond to contributing comments, and then it vanishes. It actually vanished when I was trying to thank a commenter for their insights. Do a couple of crazies get to spam troll over and over in any thread they seek to disrupt and hijack until it gets deleted?

Very few posters seemed to believe that was an authentic thread. I received a large number of reports and felt compelled to make at least a quick check. I noticed that you have another thread about being contacted by an old boyfriend. That seemed to have a lot in common with your current thread about your son contacting an old girlfriend. However, whereas in the new thread you referred to your husband several times, in the earlier thread you said that you are divorced. So, given those issues and the fact that you were unlikely to get any helpful advice that you hadn't already received, I don't really see a need to keep that thread.
