Any tips on camps or classes for young teen interested specifically in drawing? DC can draw realistic drawings with shading, different art pencils, etc., mostly black-and-white. Can focus for hours drawing but gets bored easily with other art forms. Mainly self-taught so could use some instruction.
Looking either for day camps (ideally MoCo/DC, but could also do NoVa or Baltimore) or sleepaway camps. June/July. TIA! |

The Arlington Center for the Arts has classes and camps for teens. The summer schedule shows a week focused on drawing

| Glen echo park |
| Another option is Artworks in Bethesda. |
| Interlochen |

I would agree with Interlochen. If your daughter is serious about getting better, Interlochen will help her grow more than any other place I know. It may be too late to get a spot this year, but it would be worth checking.
For what it is worth, I found classes at both ArtWorks and Glen Echo to be formulaic and not worth much. |

My kiddo who is now at the Einstein VAC took some of Katie’s classes and learned a lot. |
