Recs for restaurants in Mexico City

Headed to MC for a long weekend (staying in Condesa) and would appreciate recs for restaurants, either hole in the wall type places or more upscale. We are foodies and not picky at all. Any that I should make reservations in advance? TIA

There are so many amazing ones! Also the street food is excellent. Look for little taquerias with lines.

Some fancier places:
Pujol (probably one of the most famous)
Chapulín (known for insects but good generally)
Contramar (near you)
Lorea
Botánico (near you)
Canton Mexicali (Mexican Chinese fusion, very popular)
Azul (one near you, one in the historic center, my favorite because of the very cool trees inside)

There is also a sort of food court near you, Mercado Parian, which has a lot of options.

You can’t go wrong! The food scene in Mexico City is probably the most vibrant in North America now, IMO.

Oh and you will definitely need reservations for a lot of these. People are going to CDMX specifically for food now. Reservations can be tight.
