bathroom door - closed or open when not in use?

In a main floor bathroom (powder room), with a window but no fan, do you leave the door open or closed when it's not in use? Is it different if you poop vs. pee? If it's someone else's house, do you make an effort to leave the door as you found it even if it isn't your preference, or do you do it your own way?

Open in my house. Ajar if we have company over.
At someone else's house, I leave it as I found it. If I'm worried about lingering odors, I will close it if it's in a higher traffic area. |
