Best snorkeling in Central America or Caribbean for April break?

We are new to snorkeling, but, after some snorkeling while on vacation a year ago, we realized that we LOVE it and want to do more. Any suggestions for good snorkeling spots in central/south america or the Caribbean? We'd love suggestions for locations, places you stayed, other activities, etc. FYI, we'll be with our 7 year old who also really enjoyed snorkeling at 6. We need it to be relatively smooth, clear water since she's still pretty young (but a confident swimmer).
