All 5 of us wear glasses, and several of us need a new pair this coming year. My friend was recommending that we get vision insurance (we are feds).
Looking at the choices, it seems that BCBS standard for family fits the bill: it will pay for most of our eye exams and we can continue to get our glasses from Costco. Hopefully it will pay for most, if not all, of the cost of transitions and progressives. Are there any downsides I'm missing? I understand it won't pay for out of network, but we were already paying for that out of pocket before. Since today's the last day to enroll, I'd appreciate to hear others' perspectives. |

| OP here. Thanks for the info. For next year, though, can anyone tell me if they have found federal vision insurance to be worth it or not? |
